Epanochori Chania: A lovely village located 45 km south west of Chania Town, at a high altitude of 600 metres above the sea. It is surrounded by the beautiful mountains. It is very close to the gorge of Agia Irene, where you can see the 13th century church of Jesus Christ and Agios Georgios. The village consists of traditional stone built houses amidst the lush green setting and green surroundings. Close to Epanochori lies the traditional village of Prases, in a lush area of olive trees, chestnut trees and fur trees.
Epanochori is a small mountain village in the southwest of Crete on the Chania – Prases – Epanochori – Sougia / Paleochora route. It consistst of a few houses, two small churches and three taverna’s, of which two also act as a mini-market for the most essential supplies. The area is green and good for making walks. It is dotted with small white villages in between te forests and there are many small Byzantine churches around with original fresco’s. Closeby are the beaches of Sougia and several beaches in and around Paleochora.
