Karydi (Karidi) Beach Halkidiki: Located 53 km south east of Poligiros, on the Vourvourou bay in Sithonia, the central peninsula of Halkidiki. It is famous for its outstandingly beautiful landscape. The beach sits towards the end of Vourvourou and it is a mix of rocky outcroppings on stretches of fine white sand. The deep green waters of the beach are very clear and shallow enough to make it a safe natural bay for children to swim. The beachfront has several taverns with fresh seafood and traditional dishes. The resort of Vourvourou abounds with many accommodation options and tourist facilities.
Karidi beach has its main beach and a second beach to the south. These beaches are real magnets for tourists in the summer and one of Sithonia’s most sought after beaches. Photogenic Karidi is often in websites and magazines as a picture to lure you to Sithonia’s fantastic gems.
There is no organization on Karidi as far as beach bars are concerned, this also means no sun-beds and umbrellas. The only organization is a couple of canteen kitchens that offer reasonably priced cold beer and souvlaki. Some restaurants and pizzerias are within walking distance of the beach.
The beach is very shallow like a large sheltered aquamarine swimming pool. The sand is powdery soft and cannot be compared with any other sand in Sithonia. Adults can walk out 50+ meters and the water won’t get past the waist, so this really is the perfect kid’s pool. Even in the end season this beach will be crowded so it’s good to get here early in the day if you want parking and room for your towel.
